RMR Support Workers provide specialist rehabilitation support workers who support you in your own home and community — wherever your rehabilitation goals take you.
All our rehabilitation support workers are trained, DBS checked and insured.
We work with adults with neurological conditions, spinal injury, amputee and other complex needs.
Our client-specific approach enables us to tailor support to your individual goals and rehabilitation programme.

How We Operate
At RMR, we understand the importance of communication between our rehabilitation support workers and the other professionals involved in your rehabilitation — including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, case managers and family members.
All support is overseen by our HCPC-registered neuro specialist physiotherapist, ensuring that every rehabilitation programme is clinically informed and delivered safely within defined professional boundaries.
We work closely alongside your therapy team to ensure that the work done in clinical sessions carries over into your everyday life — because rehabilitation does not stop when therapy sessions end.
Our Approach — Rehabilitation Through Everyday Activity
One of the things that differentiates RMR from traditional support providers is that we encourage our rehabilitation support workers to think beyond simply completing activities with a client.
Rather than arriving at a session and thinking, "Today we're going shopping," we want our support workers to ask themselves: "What rehabilitation opportunities does this activity provide?"
Using shopping as an example, the activity itself doesn't change, but the purpose behind it does. Instead of seeing it purely as accompanying someone to the shops, the rehabilitation support worker recognises the rehabilitation opportunities that naturally exist within the activity.
Depending on your goals, this might include:
-
Walking endurance and balance
-
Planning and organisation
-
Communication and social interaction
-
Carrying and functional strength
-
Confidence in busy environments
-
Fatigue management
-
Money handling and decision-making
-
Problem-solving and sequencing
This approach means that everyday activities become purposeful rehabilitation opportunities rather than simply tasks to complete. Whether it's shopping, gardening, using public transport, attending a local group or preparing a meal at home — every session is an opportunity to work towards your goals.
How We Support
Community access — shopping, public transport, attending appointments
Social participation — local activities, exercise groups, community events
Daily living activities — housework, gardening, meal preparation, home routines
Confidence building — regaining confidence in physical activity and community engagement
Rehabilitation programme implementation — supporting exercises and activities set by your therapists
Therapy carry-over activities — practising and reinforcing skills between clinical sessions
Functional independence support — building independence in the activities that matter to you
Progress reporting — structured feedback to your therapy team and case manager
Our Support Workers
All our rehabilitation support workers are experienced and trained to work in the rehabilitation sector. They are insured and DBS checked, and their work is overseen by our HCPC-registered physiotherapist.
Our aim is to help you set and achieve short-term and long-term goals. Whether that involves building functional independence, improving mobility and confidence, enhancing community participation, or supporting the rehabilitation programme set by your therapy team — every session is purposeful, person-centred and aligned with your broader rehabilitation pathway.
